Rockwood is the only school district in the state to currently hold a AAA rating as well as ASBO's MBA and COE. This includes a AAA rating from Standard & Poor’s, a recognition earned by only four school districts in the state of Missouri, and 17 straight years of earning ASBO's Certificate of Excellence in financial reporting. The Rockwood Finance Department regularly earns top honors for its excellent financial management. Participants submit their applications and budget documents to a panel of school financial professionals who review the materials for compliance with the MBA Criteria Checklist and other requirements and provide expert feedback that districts can use to improve their budget documents. ASBO International’s MBA promotes and recognizes best budget presentation practices in school districts. This is the 23rd straight year that ASBO has awarded an MBA to the district. The Association of School Business Officials International recently recognized Rockwood School District with the 2022-2023 Meritorious Budget Award for excellence in budget presentation. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals and was named the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals Middle School Principal of the Year in 2015. A 2020 ROSE Award recipient, he currently serves as president of the St. Louis, his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University, his Administrative Certification in Secondary School Administration from Lindenwood University and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Maryville University. Gary earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri-St. Prior to that, he was a principal, associate principal, assistant principal and science teacher in Hazelwood schools. He currently serves as the principal at Crestview Middle, where he has worked since 2016. Gary has more than 20 years of experience as an administrator at the secondary level. Bob is a Google Certified Innovator, was named an METC Midwest Spotlight Educator in 2015 and was also a ROSE Award recipient in 2013 and Teacher of the Year at Fairway in 2006. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and an Educational Specialist Degree in Information Science and Learning Technologies from the University of Missouri-Columbia, as well as a Master of Arts in Education from Lindenwood University. Prior to that, he was coordinator of STEM K-12 for four years, an instructional technology specialist for eight years and a fourth-grade teacher at Ridge Meadows Elementary for five years and Fairway Elementary for three years. Both Bob and Gary will begin their new roles July 1.īob has worked for Rockwood since 1999 and is currently the director of technical support services. Dave Cobb being named assistant superintendent of school supervision following the retirement of Dr. Bob replaces Deb Ketring, who is retiring at the end of the year, and Gary is taking on a new position following a reorganization of Cabinet that included Dr. Gary Jansen as our new executive director of secondary education. Earlier tonight, the Board of Education approved the hire of two of our current administrators to new positions within Rockwood: Robert Deneau as our new chief information officer and Dr.
